There is an unmatched energy when a hybrid team finally gathers under one roof. Recently, our Wisitech office was buzzing with laughter, chaos, and a whole lot of drama as our outstation colleagues, who usually conquer targets from their work-from-home setups, joined us in person. We were all thrilled to finally catch up, but little did we know our leadership had a theatrical surprise in store for us!

In the blink of an eye, Madhu Verma, our HR and COO, along with Srishti, our fellow content writer, turned our regular office gathering into an impromptu stage for acting. In a remarkably short span of time, they planned, organized, and executed a brilliant skit competition. The sheer speed and perfection with which they set up the game, defined the rules, and distributed the teams was a masterclass in itself, proving that effective time management can turn spontaneous ideas into unforgettable experiences.

The Setup and the Rules

The premise was simple but challenging. We were divided into three groups of five: Team Hungama, Team Nautanki, and Team Bindaas.

The twist? The teams were intentionally mixed. We were paired with colleagues we rarely interact with during our usual daily workflows. The challenge was to act, much like a vocal game like dumb charades, while the other two teams tried to decode the plot. We were given exactly ten minutes to brainstorm a storyline, assign characters, and get into the zone.

Lights, Camera, Action!

When the timer ran out, the floor opened up to some surprisingly incredible acting skills:

  • Team Nautanki: True to their name, they delivered a hilarious take on daily office life. Their act revolved around two casual employees strolling into work late, only to be caught and schooled by HR and the boss. The crowd absolutely lost it when two team members perfectly mimicked our CEO, Partho Mondal, and our COO, Madhu Verma! Behind the laughter, they successfully delivered a strong moral about the importance of time management and workplace discipline.

  • Team Hungama: This squad took a completely different route, pulling off a high-stakes, adrenaline-pumping bank robbery scene that kept everyone guessing and entertained.

  • Team Bindaas: Taking us all on a nostalgic trip, they enacted a chaotic classroom scene complete with a strict teacher, a few notorious students, and a new principal who was just passing by, which led to a huge misunderstanding. Beyond the classroom comedy, their act highlighted the crucial values of focus, alertness, and team coordination.

The Real Takeaway

While the room echoed with cheers and applause, the core purpose of this brilliant exercise went far beyond just having fun. The mixed groupings forced us out of our comfort zones, breaking the ice and fostering real-time communication and coordination among members who usually work in different teams!

To all the corporate teams out there grinding away behind screens: take a moment to pause and play. Structured processes and digital tools are essential, but nothing builds a unified, high-performing team quite like stepping away from the desks, communicating face-to-face, and sharing a good laugh.

The goal of the entire skit was not to compete or give our best. The core idea was to practice values that foster a balanced work-life and keep us all motivated at work!It was a reminder that sometimes, a little bit of Nautanki and Hungama is exactly what you need to become truly Bindaas at work!
